Panthers acquire Deol from the Trappers

The Port Moody Panthers announced today that they have acquired defender Sahilpreet Deol from the Langley Trappers in exchange for future considerations.

Deol, a 2005-born blueliner, skated in 25 games this season with the Trappers as one of the team’s alternate captains, tallying two goals and seven assists to go along with 54 penalty minutes. The 6’0″, 175-pound defender also chipped in with four goals and five assists in 44 games as a 17-year-old with Langley last season. Deol also played five games in the Trappers first-round playoff series against Chilliwack

The Surrey, B.C. product made his junior hockey debut in 2021-22 with the Lake Cowichan Kraken of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, finishing with a goal and nine assists in 32 games. He also played 13 games in the USPHL Premier Division that season split between the Utah Outliers and Provo Riverblades.

Deol is a product of the Valley West Giants program, spending a season each with the U15 and U16 teams, respectively, in the BC Elite Hockey League.
